Supervision

As a qualified CBT practitioner and experienced low-intensity supervisor, I’m passionate about helping practitioners feel confident, thoughtful and supported in their clinical work.

I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Supervisory Skills from the Psychological Therapies Training Centre (PTTC), enabling me to supervise low-intensity CBT practitioners including Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP/CYWPs) and Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP). My CBT training and clinical experience also allow me to supervise more experienced practitioners, including Senior EMHPs and CWPs.

I have over 5 years’ experience supervising low-Intensity practitioners within the NHS, across different roles and settings. Having trained as a low-intensity practitioner myself around 8 years ago, I understand the role from the inside as well as from a supervisory perspective.

My experience

For me, good supervision isn’t about simply checking that you’ve completed all your clinical tasks. It’s a space to think together, reflect, challenge assumptions and develop your clinical reasoning.

I’m warm, compassionate and curious, and I want supervision to feel like a safe space to bring uncertainty, mistakes, and difficult cases without fear of judgement. But supportive doesn’t mean avoiding challenge. I’ll encourage you to think critically about your practice, while keeping that challenge constructive and proportionate.

As a neurodivergent practitioner, I’m also mindful that people don’t all learn, process information or demonstrate their strengths in the same way. I’ll adapt my supervisory approach to the practitioner in front of me.

Whether you’re newly qualified, developing your confidence, or an experienced practitioner looking for reflective space, my aim is to help you become a more confident reflective, and effective practitioner, while keeping the people you support at the centre of the work.
